Chocolate Cake

A home-kitchen version of chocolate cake, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.
Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. cold coffee (add 1 tsp. soda to the coffee)
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. boiling water
Method
Cream sugar and shortening.
Add eggs, one at a time, and blend.
Add coffee.
Then add dry ingredients.
Lastly add hot water.
Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.
