A home-kitchen version of devil's food cake, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.
Ingredients
- 1 stick margarine
- 1 c. water
- 4 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1/2 c. Wesson oil
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. soda
Method
Bring first 4 ingredients to a boil.
Sift together next 3 ingredients.
Mix together next 5 ingredients.
Add dry mixture to cocoa mixture, then add egg mixture.
Stir well.
