Ingredients

  • 1 (19.8 or 21.5 oz.) pkg. fudge brownie mix
  • 3/4 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 c. (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 c. margarine or butter
  • 1 (14 oz.) can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.

  2. Prepare brownie mix as package directs. Stir in nuts.

  3. Spread into greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan.

  4. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until center is set.

  5. In heavy saucepan, over medium heat, melt chips and margarine with sweetened condensed milk and vanilla.

  6. Spread evenly over brownie layer. Cool. Chill 2 hours or until topping is firm.

  7. Cut into bars. Store covered at room temperature.

  8. Makes 24 to 36 bars.
