A home-kitchen version of easy chocolate cake, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.
Ingredients
- 2 c. flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 stick oleo
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. soda
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 c. water
Method
Mix sugar, flour and cocoa.
Melt shortening and oleo.
Add water and boil.
Pour over dry ingredients.
Add buttermilk, soda, eggs, vanilla and salt.
Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake 35 minutes at 400°.
