Spicy Tomato Sauce

A home-kitchen version of spicy tomato sauce, written step by step so it's easy to follow that comes together with everyday ingredients.
Ingredients
- 3 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1/2 tsp. red pepper
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 box dry mustard
- 2 c. vinegar
- 1 tsp. powdered cloves
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 1 or 2 large onions peeled and sliced
- 2 gal. tomatoes, peeled and quartered
Method
Cook tomatoes and onions until done.
Add spices and other ingredients and cook slowly until very thick, stirring often. Will mike 1 large dishpan 3/4 full.
