Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

A home-kitchen version of chocolate oatmeal cookies, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. water
- 1/2 c. butter (soft)
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 (1 1/2 lb.) pkg. brownie mix
- 2 c. oats
- 6 oz. chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. pecans, chopped
Method
Beat egg, water, butter, shortening, brown sugar and half the brownie mix (dry) until smooth.
Stir in remaining dry mix, oats, nuts and chocolate chips.
Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheet.
Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.
Cool slightly, then remove to rack to cool.
Makes 6 dozen.
