Coffee Can Bread

A home-kitchen version of coffee can bread, written step by step so it's easy to follow that comes together with everyday ingredients.

Ingredients
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/8 tsp. ginger
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1 large can evaporated milk
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 to 4 1/2 c. flour
Method
Mix warm water, 1 tablespoon sugar, ginger and yeast; let stand 15 minutes.
Add evaporated milk, 2 tablespoons sugar, oil and salt.
Next, beat flour in one cup at a time.
When too stiff to stir, work all of the flour in with hands.
Lay on countertop and divide the dough in 2 pieces.
Shape and put into 2 (1 pound) coffee cans that have been greased well.
Let rise until 1 1/2 to 2-inches above top of cans.
Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
Remove from cans and cool.
