Ms. Linda'S Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookies

A home-kitchen version of ms. linda's jumbo chocolate chip cookies, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.
Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Method
Cream butter and shortening.
Gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Combine flour, soda and salt.
Add to creamed mixture.
Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
Drop dough by scant 1/4 cupfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.
Cool slightly on cookie sheet.
Remove to wire rack.
Yield:
2 dozen.
