Oatmeal Cake

A home-kitchen version of oatmeal cake, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. boiling water
- 1 c. oatmeal
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. white sugar
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
Make oatmeal.
Cool about 20 minutes.
Add remaining ingredients; beat until well blended.
Bake in a 9 x 13-inch pan at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.
