A home-kitchen version of red velvet cake, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.

Ingredients
- 2 c. Wesson oil
- 2 1/2 c. plain flour
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. cocoa
- 2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. vinegar
- 1 oz. red food coloring
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
Grease and flour pans.
(Makes three (9-inch) layers.) Mix all ingredients together and bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
