Strawberry Pie(The Easy Way)

A home-kitchen version of strawberry pie(the easy way), written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.
Ingredients
- 1 Pet-Ritz pie crust shell
- 1 qt. fresh strawberries
- 1 c. berries
- 1 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 c. water
- 3 drops red food coloring
- Cool Whip
Method
Bake and cool pie shell.
Wash and hull the strawberries.
Cut up the berries.
Mix the sugar and cornstarch in a 2-quart saucepan.
Stir in the water gradually until the mixture is smooth.
Add the cut up berries.
Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat, until thick and clear.
Stir in the food coloring. Cool.
Stir in the remaining berries.
Pour into the pie crust. Chill until firm (3 hours).
Top with Cool Whip.
