Applesauce Cookies

A home-kitchen version of applesauce cookies, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.
Ingredients
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. applesauce
- 2 c. raisins
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Method
Sift together dry ingredients, except sugar.
Cream shortening and sugar.
Add sifted ingredients alternating with applesauce. Add raisins and nuts.
Bake at 400° for 8 to 10 minutes.
