Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 sticks margarine
  • 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt (optional)
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon (optional)
  • 3 c. oats

Method

  1. Beat margarine

  2. and

  3. sugars

  4. until fluffy.

  5. Add egg and vanilla.

  6. Beat.

  7. Add

  8. flour, soda, salt and spices.

  9. Mix well. Stir in

  10. oats.

  11. Drop by teaspoonful on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 9 minutes at 375°.

  12. Makes 4 1/2 dozen.
