Ingredients

  • 12 large cabbage leaves
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. finely chopped onion
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 lb. ground turkey or hamburger
  • 1 c. cooked rice
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Method

  1. Place cabbage leaves in microwavable dish with 2 to 4 tablespoons water and microwave for about 3 minutes or until cabbage is limp.

  2. Combine egg, milk, onion, salt, pepper, meat and cooked rice.

  3. Place about 1/4 cup meat mixture in center of each leaf; fold in sides and roll ends over meat.

  4. Place in crock-pot. Combine tomato sauce with brown sugar, lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce.

  5. Pour over cabbage rolls.

  6. Cover and cook on low 7 to 9 hours.

  7. Serves 6.
