Garlic Cheese Grits

A home-kitchen version of garlic cheese grits, written step by step so it's easy to follow built around good beef and pantry staples.

Ingredients
- 4 c. water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 c. uncooked regular grits
- 1 (12-oz.) block sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 tsp. seasoned pepper
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp. hot sauce
- 3 large eggs, lightly beaten
- paprika
Method
Bring first 3 ingredients to a boil in a large saucepan; gradually stir in grits.
Return to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, 15 minutes or until thickened.
Add Cheddar cheese and next 4 ingredients, stirring until cheese melts.
Remove from heat; let stand 10 minutes.
Stir in eggs, and pour into a lightly greased 11-inch by 7-inch baking dish or 2-quart casserole.
Sprinkle with paprika.
Bake grits at 350° for 1 hour or until set.
