A home-kitchen version of homemade soap, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.
Ingredients
- 8 lb. grease or cracklings
- 4 cans lye
- 3 to 4 gal. water
Method
Combine all ingredients and cook in a large black kettle until lye eats up grease and cracklings.
Let set in pot overnight or until cold and set.
Next day, cut into pieces.
