Oatmeal Cake

A home-kitchen version of oatmeal cake, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 c. boiling water
- 1 c. oatmeal
- 1 stick oleo
- 1 c. white sugar
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/3 c. flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. soda
Method
Pour water over oatmeal.
Put in butter.
Let stand 20 minutes. Stir 2 or 3 times while cooling.
Combine remaining ingredients.
Add the oatmeal mixture.
Bake in oven at 350° for about 35 minutes. Batter will be thin.
