Oatmeal Cookies

A home-kitchen version of oatmeal cookies, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.
Ingredients
- 1 c. margarine, softened
- 1 c. Crisco
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 c. white sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 c. quick oatmeal
- 1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Method
Cream and beat well first 4 ingredients.
Add other ingredients.
Dough will be stiff.
Place dough by spoonfuls on cookie sheet.
Bake at 375° until slightly brown (about 8 to 10 minutes).
Dough may be stored in refrigerator for several days.
