Quick Apple Cake

A home-kitchen version of quick apple cake, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.
Ingredients
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 (8 oz.) whipped topping
- 1 can sliced apples
- 1/2 c. rolled oats
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 stick margarine
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Method
Mix cake as directed on box.
Pour into greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan.
Drain apples.
Place apples on top of batter. Mix remaining ingredients together, except whipped topping, and sprinkle evenly over apples.
Bake at 350° for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean.
Cool and top with whipped topping.
