Squash Dressing

A home-kitchen version of squash dressing, written step by step so it's easy to follow built around good chicken and pantry staples.

Ingredients
- 2 c. sliced yellow squash
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 c. cold water
- 2 c. corn bread crumbs
- 1 can cream of chicken soup, undiluted
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine, melted
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
Method
Combine squash, onion and water in a medium saucepan.
Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes or until tender.
Drain well; mash.
Combine squash mixture with remaining ingredients, stirring well.
Spoon into a greased 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
Bake at 350° for about 25 minutes or until browned.
