A home-kitchen version of buttermilk cookies, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.
Ingredients
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. soda
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 4 c. flour
Method
Mix all ingredients together.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375° until golden.
