A home-kitchen version of hush puppies, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.
Ingredients
- 1 c. yellow cornmeal
- 1 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- pinch of salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 egg
- 1 c. hot water, boiling
- 1/4 c. vegetable oil
Method
Mix all together and drop by spoonfuls into very hot oil. Cook until brown.
