Ingredients

  • 3 qt. popped corn (1/2 c. kernels)
  • 1 1/2 c. peanuts (optional)
  • 1 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/4 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Method

  1. Pop corn in air popper.

  2. Place popcorn and peanuts in double brown grocery bag; set aside.

  3. Combine sugar, butter, syrup and salt in glass bowl.

  4. Microwave on High 3 to 4 minutes, stirring after each minute, until mixture boils.

  5. Microwave 2 minutes more. Stir in soda.

  6. Pour syrup mixture over popcorn in bag.

  7. Close bag; shake well.

  8. Microwave 1 1/2 minutes on High; shake. Microwave 1 1/2 minutes on High; shake.

  9. Pour into roasting pan. Cool to separate.
