Microwave Caramel Corn

A home-kitchen version of microwave caramel corn, written step by step so it's easy to follow that comes together with everyday ingredients.

Ingredients
- 3 qt. popped corn (1/2 c. kernels)
- 1 1/2 c. peanuts (optional)
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 stick margarine
- 1/4 c. light corn syrup
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Method
Pop corn in air popper.
Place popcorn and peanuts in double brown grocery bag; set aside.
Combine sugar, butter, syrup and salt in glass bowl.
Microwave on High 3 to 4 minutes, stirring after each minute, until mixture boils.
Microwave 2 minutes more. Stir in soda.
Pour syrup mixture over popcorn in bag.
Close bag; shake well.
Microwave 1 1/2 minutes on High; shake. Microwave 1 1/2 minutes on High; shake.
Pour into roasting pan. Cool to separate.
