Old English Cookies

A home-kitchen version of old english cookies, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.
Ingredients
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. cold water
- 3 c. flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. cloves
Method
Mix first four ingredients.
Sift and add remaining ingredients. Mix well.
Drop even amounts on cookie sheets.
Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes.
