Chocolate Boiled Cookies

A home-kitchen version of chocolate boiled cookies, written step by step so it's easy to follow that's worth the oven time.
Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 stick margarine
- 4 Tbsp. cocoa
- 2 1/2 c. old fashioned oats
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1/2 c. peanut butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method
Combine sugar, milk, margarine and cocoa in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring and let boil 1 1/2 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in oats, nuts, peanut butter and vanilla, mixing well. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto wax paper. Makes about 3 dozen.
